Osel is a pioneer in the development of Live Biotherapeutic Products to modulate the microbiome
The microbial communities that inhabit different parts of the body are collectively called the Human Microbiome. Recent scientific discoveries have demonstrated that the microbiome plays an important role in the maintenance of health. However, perturbations in the composition of the microbiome, called dysbiosis, are associated with a host of human diseases and disorders of the female urogenital tract and the gastrointestinal tract, and can impact cancer treatment.
Osel has pioneered the development of live biotherapeutics products that prevent disease by treating the dysbiosis underlying these conditions. Our research and development is focused on disorders of the genitourinary and gastrointestinal tracts, and cancer.
Osel has an extensive library of proprietary human bacterial strains and has developed screening methods to identify strains with unique protective properties. Formulation, manufacturing, and delivery technologies have been developed to produce stable high-quality LBPs from carefully selected strains.
